These rules for advancement were voted on by guild members in early 2002.
Armorers Guild Member:
- Must have an interest in making armor.
All members may wear a favor displaying the guild crest.
Guild Novice:
- Must have made at least one piece of armor.
Guild Apprentice:
- Must make 3 pieces of armor.
- Help with or hold an armoring workshop or write an article detailing the construction of one of your pieces of armor.
Guild Journeyman:
- Must make five pieces of armor.
- Must write a 500 word minimum article on armor construction or an armor related subject.
- Must hold an armoring workshop or similar event to instruct people in at least one form of armoring.
- Earn 2 patches.
Guild Expert:
- Must make and document the construction of two major pieces of armor.
- Must make one piece of armor that is considered a masterwork by the guild.
- Must hold an armoring workshop or similar event to instruct people in at least one form of armoring (a different armor type from the previous workshop).
- Must write a 750 word minimum article on armor construction or an armor related subject.
- Earn 2 additional patches.
Master of the Armorers Guild:
- Must make two pieces of armor of two different armor types that are considered masterworks by the guild.
Masters within the guild may add a red slash across the anvil of their favor.
