Answer
At one point, we offered an additional partial credit for showing up before 1:00 PM. This was about 2 or 3 years ago.

They're from fighter practice when we weren't trying to keep down the Warrior class through round about means.
What do you mean?
What do you mean keep the warrior class down? Are you not allowed to take quarter warrior credits at fighter practice anymore?
"Just because I don't like to fight, doesn't mean that I can't!" ~Methos, Highlander
should
You should ONLY be able to take Warrior credits at fighter practice.

The rules were changed to only Warrior credits, even though you don't play the Warrior class at fighter practice. It's dumb and it demeans Warriors. :)
meh
Which is ridiculous there are several people who never play the warrior class that show up every week to fighter practice Ash/Ming for example has been going almost every week for at least the last several months. If he's working to improve himself why shouldn't he be able to take credits in any class that is melee based? I do play warrior so the .25 credit in warrior doesn't matter to me personally but out of the 6 people who regularly show up to fighter practice only maybe half have ever even taken the field as a warrior. I'm the only one who does so regularly.
It's not like fighter practice is me sitting around explaining that warriors start with 4 points of armor and 5 lives then at second level they can wear up to 6 points of armor....we show up and do drills for 4-5 hours. Learning new shots practicing new shots working on blocking all translate to any other non-warrior class that actually fights in melee range. If you wanted to get really technical you could say that our attack block drills help ranged fighters as well since at some point they will be rushed and knowing how to block and riposte could save their lives.
"Oh you're a barbarian....sure you can fight with us....no sorry you won't actually learn anything from us because the rule system is flawed..."
Anti-Paladin, Assassin, Barbarian, Monk, Paladin, Warrior are all classes that should be options for the quarter credit.

Artistan / Color
You also have the option to take Artisan / Color credits, right? Not that you'd want to take Color, but artisan.
"Just because I don't like to fight, doesn't mean that I can't!" ~Methos, Highlander
?
Fighter practice only allows for Warrior credit now.
Wrong!
Artisan credits don't exist.
Tiwaz currently allows people to take other classes instead.
Lurker the Pieous
Um ...
Is that a PV thing or is that something someone has changed somewhat recently?
And yes, Artisan credits DO count. They're still on the O.R.K. I've heard nothing that they were not being used anymore.

Tee hee
Artisan credits don't count for anything other than being able to be GM of Artisans.
Color is not a class, but it used to be so it is still listed on the ORK.
The DS corpora limits us to 1/4 Warrior credit for fighter practices and the rulebook limits us to Warrior credits when no classes are played.
The only time you can take a credit other than what you played, in DS anyway, is when you are a Reeve.
Well
The way it's justified is that the monarch can grant people credits(also by the corpora). Tiwaz has the monarch's approval currently to allow other credits instead of warrior credits.
Lurker the Pieous
!
I suppose that is one way around that.
Actually I don't have the
Actually I don't have the approval, if you listened I said I would try to get this approved, and to put the class you would like credits in. There is no guarantee that it will happen, but I'm going to push as hard as I can for it. It will probably need to be taken to the populous and get a 2/3 vote which may or may not happen since 2/3's do not show up to fighter practice. If only people who showed up at fighter practice could vote then it would probably pass...as it stands I'm not sure it would. This would essentially be a change to the rulebook as per the corpora which would then need to be handed out in a newsletter....I'll continue to take down classes you "want" to take credits in and if this gets approved they'll be entered as such. For right now though its just warrior credits and has been my whole term as GM.

Orly?
Last I checked, when we initially checked it out with Alucard for a similar issue, he gave us the go-ahead.
Also, we can't change the rulebook. The rulebook also doesn't cover fighter practice.
Lurker the Pieous
A newsletter? So wait, I'm
A newsletter? So wait, I'm confused, am I supposed to be adding something to the newsletters already?
WAR!!!
might want to go read the
might want to go read the corpora again:
Section 3. THE ALTHING
1. The Althing is a public meeting open to all members of the kingdom to (i) discuss and enact rules changes with a two-thirds vote, (ii) revise and update the Corpora with a two-thirds vote, (iii) discuss and vote upon major expenditures of the kingdom treasury, (iv) discuss and vote on the future of the kingdom, (v) vote on approving the adoption and promotion of sponsored chapters, (vi) vote on restoring the membership status of a terminated member and (vii) discuss and vote on kingdom policy.
Section 4. CHANGING THE RULES OF PLAY AND THE CORPORA
(See Note 2.)
1. Changing of the Amtgard Rules of Play requires a two-thirds vote of the Althing.
a. All members may vote on changing the rules regardless of their dues-paid status.
2. Changes shall be published in the newsletter, added to the rulebook as a supplement, and made available to all members.
While this is obviously from the DS corpora we still follow the rules of their corpora which means we should be able to revise the rules for our park with a 2/3 vote.

Umm...
Tiwaz, I hate to break it to you, but the RoP supersedes any corpora, and the RoP has a line in it that dictates how it is changed.
Lurker the Pieous
Yes but we also have a new
Yes but we also have a new Rulebook that should be coming out soon and the issues of contradictions between the corpora and rulebook may no longer be an issue. We're also not trying to change the rulebook as the rulebook doesn't mention anywhere inside anything about fighter practice or the 1/4 credit.
