Glenalth

Glenalth

Wearing a lot of weird armor pieces too.

14 gauge steel plates in the shoulders and chest of that thing.

Copper Chain

Copper Chain

Recycled copper wire from pinball machine flipper solenoids.

I used a piece of 14 gauge wire to coil the rings.

The end result is really great looking, but the wire is too soft and pulls apart over time.

Leather Bracers

Leather Bracers

Sorry for the tiny little image. I made these for someone and then they were stolen, so I suppose someone liked them.

They're just tiny 1/2 length bracers to make a shirt look nice :)

Photos and Stories

Slowly adding photos now in between reformatting articles. I'll start with the first of the old articles soon. I have some unpublished ones that will be stuck into the stream as well.

Of course brand new articles are always appreciated...

Easiest way to submit an article is that "New Post" button that appears when you log in (<--- Over there).

From there if you do a "Log entry" you can create a new story, work log, or even just have a place for a blog. If you want it on the front page, let me know and I'll look it over for spelling/grammar and bump it to the front page.

That "New Post" button will let you add photos directly to the gallery as well.

Stainless Haubergeon Closure

Stainless Haubergeon Closure

The neck closure I made on my armor so no legal targets could be hit at the neckline.

The photo was a bit blurry so I added some color. The blue line is the flap and hook closure. The green line is the neckline underneath.

Stainless Haubergeon Underarm

Stainless Haubergeon Underarm

A closeup of the join under the arm. The arms were extended a few more inches and the armpit widened 4 rows after this was taken.

15 gauge stainless.

Stainless Haubergeon

Stainless Haubergeon

Made this one in 2003.

15 gauge stainless steel 4in1 with just under 3/8" id. on the rings. The new rules made me happy.

The portions covering the legs are made up of a mix of the 15 gauge rings and some thicker rings that I forgot to measure. Just using a loose Japanese 4/1 weave.

Mild Steel Haubergeon

Mild Steel Haubergeon

Probably made this around 2001 and have no detailed picture of it :(

14 gauge mild steel, rings hand wound and cut. Came out around 25lbs when finished. Used a fiberglass chimney sweeper rod, a pair of vice grips and a sprue cutter. About $30 of materials went into it.

Sold it around 2004 after I switched over to my fancy stainless armor.
